Angela von Hayek

My name is Angela von Hayek and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (VA # 0717001063) and Licensed Professional Counselor (VA # 0701003297). I am licensed in the State of Virginia. I went to Christopher Newport University and received my Doctoral Degree in Counselor Education with an emphasis on Family and Couples therapy from the College of William and Mary. I am familiar with special education procedures and recognize the particular challenges families can face when dealing with problems at school. I have been in private practice since 2003 where I have worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups on a variety of issues. A particular interest of mine is assisting families who are dealing with a member of the family with a disability. I believe that therapy can assist individuals to maximize their potential and live full, meaningful lives. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, comfortable, and safe environment in which clients can explore the difficulties they face in their lives. Together with my clients I look for ways to cope with difficult situations using the clients’ strengths.
